Those that walk in the power of God are those that consistently speak and believe the word of God.
At the same time, they are very much aware of the necessity of challenging their negative thoughts that are constantly coming at them all in an effort to prevent those negative thought from being verbally communicated over themselves or the lives of others.
We are commanded to Cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5.
The word captivity is defined as a state or period of being held, imprisoned, enslaved, confined, restricted or limited in movement, The above scripture has clearly said to us that we must not only screen but to also confine every thought and compare if that thought is in line with the obedience of Jesus Christ.
If I had to use an every day comparison to this understanding, here is the example that I would use. I would compare our minds to that of boarder controls that every country has, such as Customs and Immigration. Both services are responsible in seeing to it that whomever or whatever is about to enter that particular country they must meet all requirements instituted by that country for entry. If these requirements are not met then that person or thing will be deported willingly or by force and will not be able to go within that country's boarders.
Well, the word of God is the Customs and Immigration controlling agents of our minds. Unfortunately, because of the lack of study and reading of the word of God these services have been disabled and replaced by junk such: as ideologies, philosophies, self righteousness, theories and many other self-help material that further compromise the boarders of our minds.
Scriptures further warns us with the following verses, " Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life" Proverbs 4:23 and "it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person." Matthew 15:11.
So as it has been revealed my friend, our mouths are just the stage for what has been allowed in our hearts by thoughts that were not brought into captivity under the obedience of the word of God. There is a word that is commonly used in the bible and that word is, "Defile". The word defile means to make something or someone foul, dirty, unclean; polluted; tainted or debased. Another understanding of this word is defined as polluting or corrupting the original of something or someone. With this elaborate understanding of this word the following verses provides even more revelation as to what our unchecked thoughts which are converted to words are really doing to us and by extension others:
"“Do you not understand that everything that goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and is eliminated? “But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornication, thefts, false witness, slanders. “These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man" Matthew 15:17-19
My words of wisdom on this early Tuesday morning is simply this. Beef up the Customs and Immigration services of your mind by saturating your mind with the word of God so that you will be enabled to execute bringing into captivity every thought under the obedience of our lord and savior Jesus Christ!
