The Law of the Temporary: Why This Season Isn't Forever

One of the beautiful things about life is that absolutely nothing lasts forever. No matter how pleasant or
unpleasant a season may be, eventually it must change.

Scripture reminds us of this powerful truth:

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

I like to call this the law of the temporary. The reality is that every season of your life is temporary. Every situation has an appointed time; therefore, the circumstances surrounding your life today do not necessarily represent what your life will look like tomorrow. Wherever you are in life right now, you must understand that you are in a season.

Your season is not necessarily your destiny.
Your present condition is not necessarily your permanent condition.
Your current chapter is not the conclusion of your story.

Every Season Has an Appointed Time

Ecclesiastes 3:1 teaches us that there is both a season and a time connected to the purposes of life. Ecclesiastes 3:11 adds another important truth:

"He hath made every thing beautiful in his time." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Notice the words "in his time." Something may not look beautiful while you are going through it. You may not understand why God allowed it. You may wonder why the season has lasted as long as it has. But Scripture reminds us that God sees the completed picture while we are experiencing only one portion of it. This is why we must be careful not to judge our entire lives based on one difficult season.

Joseph could have judged his life while he was in the pit.
He could have judged his destiny while he was a slave in Potiphar's house.
He could have concluded that God had forgotten him while he was sitting in prison.

But the prison was not Joseph's final destination. It was simply one season in the process that eventually positioned him for the palace. The same principle appears throughout Scripture.

David experienced the wilderness before the throne.
Moses experienced the backside of the desert before leading Israel.
Israel experienced Egypt before the Promised Land.
Jesus experienced the cross before the resurrection.

Never allow a painful season to convince you that God has abandoned His purpose for your life.

Be Careful What You Say During Difficult Seasons

Another important lesson we must learn is this. While seasons change, our attitude and behavior within those seasons matter. You can unknowingly make an already difficult season more painful by constantly complaining about everything that is wrong. Israel provides a powerful warning about murmuring and complaining during seasons of transition.

Instead of allowing your mouth to continually rehearse the negativity of your circumstances, begin reminding yourself, "I know things will get better," and then add, "At some point in all of this, favor will locate me." Why? Because difficult circumstances do not cancel God's ability to favor you.

Joseph had favor even while he was a slave. Genesis 39:3-4 tells us that Joseph found grace in the sight of Potiphar. Later, even while Joseph was in prison, Scripture says:

"But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison." (Genesis 39:21)

Think about that. Joseph was in an unfavorable place, but God's favor was still upon his life. Never confuse your environment with your spiritual position. You can be experiencing a difficult season and still have the favor of God working behind the scenes.

Ask God for Understanding of Your Season

Wisdom is not merely knowing that seasons exist. Wisdom is discerning which season you are presently in and knowing what that season requires of you.

"A wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment." (Ecclesiastes 8:5)

This principle is beautifully demonstrated in 1 Chronicles 12:32, which speaks concerning the children of Issachar:

"And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do..." (1 Chronicles 12:32)

This is powerful. They did not simply understand the times; they understood what needed to be done because of the times. That is a wisdom every believer should desire.

• There is a time to build and a time to prepare.
• There is a time to speak and a time to remain silent.
• There is a time to save and a time to release.
• There is a time to fight and a time to be still.
• There is a time to move forward and a time to wait patiently upon God.

If you misunderstand your season, you can make decisions that work against what God is trying to develop in your life. One prayer we should pray regularly is: "Lord, give me understanding of the times and seasons of my life, and show me what I ought to do."

Do Not Waste the Season You Are In

Instead of only asking God to remove you from an uncomfortable season, sometimes you should ask, "Lord, what are You trying to teach me in this season?" Every season has something to teach you.

• Some seasons teach patience.
• Some teach discipline.
• Some teach humility.
• Some teach stewardship.
• Some expose wrong relationships.
• Some reveal weaknesses in our character.
• Some teach us how to trust God when we cannot understand what He is doing.

James 1:2-4 teaches that trials can produce patience and maturity. Sometimes God uses what we desperately want to escape to develop something we desperately need. This is why Romans 8:28 becomes so important:

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)

Scripture does not say that everything that happens to us is good. It says that all things can work together for good according to God's purpose. God can take the pleasant seasons and the painful seasons, the victories and the disappointments, the open doors and the closed doors, and weave them together according to His divine purpose.

Instead of complaining through every season you dislike, ask God for the wisdom to understand it, the strength to endure it, and the discernment to recognize when that season is changing.

Prepare for Your Next Season

Understanding seasons also means recognizing that your present season should help prepare you for your next one.

Joseph's years of difficulty were preparing him for leadership.
David's wilderness experience was preparing him for kingship.
Moses' years in the desert were preparing him to lead people through a desert.

Your current season may be developing wisdom, discipline, patience, character, or experience that your next season will require. Do not despise preparation simply because it is uncomfortable. Remember the principle: your current season is temporary, but what you learn from it can prepare you for what comes next.

So wherever you are today, do not lose hope. Do not allow what you see presently to convince you that nothing will ever change. There is "a time to every purpose under the heaven." Ask God to give you the understanding of the children of Issachar, to discern the times and know what you ought to do. Appreciate what God is teaching you today. Prepare yourself for tomorrow. And above all, remember: this season is not forever.

Prayer

Father, in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, I pray that You bless me with the spirit of understanding the times and seasons of my life and, by extension, life as a whole, so that I will appreciate the season that I am presently in and wisely prepare for my next season.

Lord, forgive me for complaining during the seasons I dislike. I am reminded of Your Word in Romans 8:28, which declares that all things work together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose.

Your Word also instructs me in 1 Thessalonians 5:18: "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

Therefore, Father, teach me not merely to endure my seasons but to discern them. Give me wisdom like the children of Issachar, who had understanding of the times and knew what Israel ought to do.

Finally, Lord, I embrace both the good and the difficult seasons of my life, because I believe that, according to Your divine plan and purpose for my life, You will cause them all to work together for my good. Give me the wisdom to understand my present season, the patience to endure it, the humility to learn from it, and the discernment to recognize and prepare for the season that is coming next.

I ask all of these things in the name of Your Son and my Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Times and Seasons: Why God's Delay Is Not Denial

Time is advancing you toward what you have been praying for. Please do not allow the pressures, anxiety,
and impatience of life to cause you to judge God foolishly.

Times and Seasons Are Purpose Managers

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

Every purpose is governed by times and seasons. It will make no difference how many times we ask God for a particular thing, or how loudly we cry out for it in prayer. The law of time and seasons will always govern its arrival. All of us have an assigned amount of time to exist on earth. Times and seasons are also purpose managers.

Before any of the things I'm about to mention can occur, we must exist first, obvious as that sounds. This is why Ecclesiastes 3:2 opens with, "A time to be born, and a time to die." We are assigned specific times and seasons on the earth, from the date of birth to the time of death, to accomplish a particular purpose. However, fulfilling that purpose requires certain experiences. No matter what your goal may be, you will encounter and have to deal with the following seasons:

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:2-8)

Ecclesiastes 3:2-8 can also be called the law of the temporary because, in essence, it teaches that nothing exists forever. This passage is especially relevant to those who have recently lost a loved one. In times of death, we quickly realize that all of us, and all things, will one day be spoken of only in the past tense. That simply means the time of expiration has arrived.

Time Comes With Judgment

"A wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment." (Ecclesiastes 8:5)

Simply put, a person who understands the law of time and seasons knows that alongside time being assigned to everything, judgment also accompanies it. We are accountable for the time given to our purpose. This is why we are commanded to redeem the time:

"Redeeming the time, because the days are evil." (Ephesians 5:16)

Redeem the Time

I want to say to someone: stop wasting time, and focus on doing what God has placed you on the earth to do. Please consider that grudges, bitterness, unforgiveness, and offenses consume the limited time and seasons we have. When it's time to exit, we cannot reclaim those times or seasons.

I strongly suggest we allow the written law of Ecclesiastes 3:2-8 to remind us that everyone and everything has an expiration date. If you simply observe what's going on in the world, the expiration dates of many are arriving quicker than expected.

Make no mistake, the days are quickly approaching when you and I, just like those who have gone before us, will make our exit, only to stand before the supreme Judge of times and seasons to give an account of how we managed our allotted time to fulfill His will for our lives.

There is a spiritual discipline and protocol to your divine seasons

On the way home today, I observed a few mango trees that were budding already, which of course

indicates that mango season is approaching.

What really caught my attention was the fact that all of the mango trees that I saw today were not located in the same area. In fact they were miles apart from each other. The point I am attempting to get at here is simply this. Each mango tree, even though they are nowhere near each other, are all aware of its season and has already begun the process to produce in their season.

The only thing that was required from these trees, were to weather the elements and allow the ground in which they are planted to supply the nutrients so that when their season arrives it will be automatic for these trees to produce the fruit of mango.

As human beings, God has program us to experience certain seasons. However, just like the mango tree, our seasons are designed for us to produce certain fruits for a particular season, if we weather the elements (challenges of life) and stay grounded in the word.

Psalm 1:2-3, provides a classic illustration of this: "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper".

Producing our fruit in the seasons assigned to us must follow a spiritual discipline and protocol according to the above scripture. The protocol starts by insisting that we meditate on the scriptures day and night. Not sometimes, not only when troubles arises, not only when we're asked by a Pastor or religious leader to read it. Instead we must take the initiative along with discipline to meditate on the Holy Bible DAY & NIGHT!!!!!!

The result of this discipline according to scripture; has compared us to a tree that is planted by the rivers of water. In other words, meditating on the word DAY & NIGHT becomes the resources that we need that will maintain and sustain us until our specific season comes.

The scripture further adds that he shall bring forth "HIS FRUIT IN HIS SEASON". Therefore I am led to believe according to this scripture that NOT EVERYONE EXPERIENCES THE SAME SEASON AT THE SAME TIME! Each person during the course of their life span has particular seasons assigned to them by God and whatever this person does in their season according to the will of God MUST PROSPER, simply because it is their SEASON TO PROSPER!

I don't know who is reading this post right now, but what I do know is that God has inspired me via his Holy Spirit at 2:55 AM Tuesday 2016, to let you know that your failure to meditate on his word DAY & NIGHT, has caused you to miss your seasons. In fact he said to tell you that your lack of spiritual discipline in not meditating on his word day and night has cause you to seek a short cut in getting to your seasons. In so doing you've allowed so called prophets to mislead you by their false prophecies, asking you to sow financial seeds that will catapult you into your season. This of course has yet to come to pass and never will because it is not the spiritual protocol that will take you into your seasons of fruit and prosperity.

God said to observe those that you know that have and are experiencing their seasons. The common denominator among them is their commitment to his word. God said to tell you that it is his word that conditions you for the seasons he's specifically design for you. To reject or ignore his command to meditate on his word day and night is equivalent to a fruit tree pulling up its roots and decides to reside in a desert place and foolishly anticipating to produce fruit when the season for it to produce arrives.

The word of the lord to whoever is reading this: discipline yourself by meditating on the scriptures day and night. It will be through this process that the spirit of the Lord will realign you to your divine seasons and cause things to turn around for you. Begin today by giving time to God's word.

Thank God for assigned times and seasons

Ask God this morning to provide you with patience, a clear mind and the ability to push past all visible and
invisible distractions that Satan has put in place to discourage and re-route you from your "SET TIME" of favor, opportunity, advancement, healing etc.


 I want to say to someone today, that everything during the course of our lives is indeed "TEMPORARY!"
 You just might be at a low or disadvantaged point in your life right now but according to the spiritual law of temporary, even your low or disadvantaged point has an assigned time attached to it.

The spiritual law of temporary dictates that there is a specific time and season for every purpose" Eccl. 3:1. Therefore, good, evil or indifferent all have a set time to exist in our lives. Being at the back of the line today is not a guarantee you'll be there tomorrow. Being the outcast at your place of employment has a set time, it will not be that way forever...... The spiritual law will not allow it!

As a reminder scripture records that it is God that changes the times and the seasons, Daniel 2:21. What could it be that God is changing in your favor through your current circumstances? What is it that God is desiring you to learn from this situation so that you'll be prepared for your next time and season?

Joseph, was an outcast by the actions of his brothers. What his brothers and including himself did not know, was that, there was a divine time and season set on the oppression assigned to that period of Joseph's life. However, when that assigned time had expired, his former position had no other choice than to release him into the next phase of his life.

Many of you reading this post are about to be catapult into your next appointed time and season. Just like Jonah the place you are currently at right now will vomit you into the next appointed time of your life, thus the reason for the opposition you've been facing there. The enemies of our appointed times and seasons are the wrong people, the wrong places and the wrong things, their sole purpose is to see to it that you don't meet those divine appointments, which is achieved by wasting your time being attached to them......... My God! Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that you've connected yourself to that's keeping you from where you should be at this point in your life?

Heavenly Father, keep us on the right path to our next time and season by removing the wrong people, places and things from our lives that were sent on assignment by the enemy to hijack our destiny. Supply us Lord with the ability to focus and to keep pressing forward in spite of the many challenges in the mighty name of your son Jesus Christ!

"Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favor her, yea, the "SET TIME", is come" Psalm 102:13.

Seasons

EVERY season in a person's life is filled with good and bad, this should be of no surprise to the one experiencing their season, simply because they were the one's responsible for planting the seeds via words and action that has produced whatever it is that they are currently experiencing as a season.

The word season comes from the Latin word 'satio' which literally means 'a time to sow'.

This is important to note because most believers are of the view that 'their season' is a time to receive only things that are good.

However, based on the understanding of the etymology of the word season, which literally means a time to sow, this suggests that whatever season we're in it is a direct result of the seeds (words and actions) that we've planted or sown in our previous seasons.

Therefore, to guarantee ourselves seasons of good or plenty or whatever season we desire, it is a must that we begin sowing or planting in our present seasons, what we desire to see in our future seasons. it is important to note that no season is by chance, accident or luck, but by carefully planted seeds knowingly or unknowingly in our past seasons that has brought fort the harvest that we see today. King Solomon said, "To everything there is a time and season (a time to sow) to every purpose under the sun (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Basically Solomon is saying that everything that exist, there was a period in time the seed/s of it were planted to bring about its existence to fulfill it purpose for its existence for that particular season. In verse two of this same scripture, King Solomon made a profound statement as it relates to seasons when he said, "There is a time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which was planted. Bottom line, life gives purpose and death brings and end to that purpose. This process is considered the cycle of all seasons.

Again, your words and actions of hate will no doubt produce a season of hate. Your words and action of love will no doubt produce a season of love. For every season that you find yourself in, sow the opposite of what you dislike in that particular season, so that you can look forward with confidence to a season that you desire!So the bottom line here folks is simply this, the word "season" is just a condensed form of the process of sowing and reaping. Your seasons are guaranteed based on what you sow today; therefore consider greatly the motive behind whatever it is that you are sowing, because your next season will see to it that it comes to fruition.
