Self-Assessment for Identifying Ungodly Covenants

Set aside quiet time with God before beginning this self-assessment. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal every agreement, covenant, and practice in your life that opposes the Word and will of God. Do not rush through these questions. Answer each one honestly.

Personal Sin

• What sinful behavior have I excused, hidden, defended, or repeatedly practiced without genuine repentance?
• Whom have I refused to forgive?
• Where have pride, anger, bitterness, or offense controlled my decisions?
• What has God instructed me to stop doing, yet I continue to do it?

Words and Vows

• Have I spoken destructive words or vows over my own life?
• Have I repeatedly declared failure, death, poverty, rejection, defeat, or hopelessness over myself?
• Have I made vows, promises, or agreements with people or spirits that violate the Word of God?
• Have I accepted names, labels, or identities that oppose who God says I am in Christ?

Relationships

• Am I maintaining a sinful, immoral, controlling, or manipulative relationship?
• Did a present or former relationship involve ungodly vows, sexual bondage, occult practices, manipulation, or control?
• Am I seeking emotional comfort from a relationship that weakens my covenant with God or violates my covenant with my spouse?

Spiritual Practices

• Have I consulted mediums, psychics, diviners, astrologers, witch doctors, or other occult workers?
• Have I participated in rituals, ceremonies, or practices that invite, honor, or invoke spirits?
• Do I possess objects that were dedicated to false worship, occult activity, or demonic practices?
• Have I mixed biblical prayer with occult customs, rituals, charms, or superstitions?

Dreams

• Have I repeatedly accepted food, rings, money, gifts, vows, sexual encounters, marriages, or proposals in troubling dreams?
• Does the same person, place, house, school, relationship, or setting repeatedly appear in my dreams?
• Did I verbally agree to, receive, or participate in anything in a dream that opposed the Word of God?
• Did I reject, renounce, and cancel that agreement through prayer after waking?

Practical Conduct

• Am I calling a financial consequence a curse while refusing to budget, save, plan, or practice discipline?
• Am I praying for healing and good health while refusing responsible medical care and healthy choices?
• Am I asking God for restoration while refusing to apologize, forgive, correct my behavior, or make restitution?
• Am I rebuking delay while repeatedly procrastinating and neglecting my responsibilities?

This examination should lead you to repentance, correction, and action. It should never lead you into fear, torment, or obsession. The Holy Spirit exposes what is wrong so you can repent, close the door, and walk in truth.

Steps for Breaking an Evil Covenant

1. Submit Yourself to God

Begin with your relationship with Jesus Christ. James 4:7 says, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Notice the divine order. Submission comes before resistance. You cannot protect rebellion in one area of your life while expecting spiritual authority to operate properly in another.

2. Identify the Agreement

Ask God for wisdom and revelation. Examine the words, vows, actions, relationships, dreams, rituals, and family practices connected to the pattern. Do not build conclusions on fear or speculation. Work with what Scripture, facts, and repeated evidence reveal.

3. Confess and Repent

Name your sin before God. Do not hide behind vague or general language. If you practiced divination, confess it. If you held on to unforgiveness, acknowledge it. If you entered an immoral relationship or ungodly agreement, admit it. Genuine repentance requires honesty and a decision to turn away from the sin.

4. Renounce the Covenant

Declare before God that you reject, renounce, and withdraw your agreement from every covenant contrary to Jesus Christ and His Word. Renounce every word, vow, ritual, promise, dedication, and spiritual claim connected to that covenant.

5. Remove Your Participation

Stop participating in the behavior that gives the covenant access to your life. End every unlawful spiritual practice. Remove objects under your control that belong to occult worship. Leave relationships that demand disobedience to God. Where necessary, seek sound pastoral, legal, medical, or professional help.

6. Replace Error With Truth

Study the Scriptures connected to the area of bondage. Renew your mind with the Word of God. Speak the truth of Scripture and establish new habits. Replace financial disorder with a budget. Replace bitterness with forgiveness. Replace isolation with healthy Christian fellowship. Freedom requires you to remove the lie and live by the truth.

7. Resist Reentry

The enemy often attempts to reenter through temptation, deception, old relationships, familiar habits, and recurring dreams. Do not rebuild what repentance destroyed. Guard your thoughts, words, relationships, decisions, and spiritual practices.

8. Walk in Consistent Obedience

Freedom must become your way of life. One prayer is important, but a consistent life of obedience protects the ground you gained through repentance, renunciation, truth, and disciplined choices. Prayer does not replace obedience.

What Genuine Spiritual Protection Looks Like

Spiritual protection does not come from placing salt in the corners of your home, wearing colored strings
around your wrist, taking ritual baths, burying objects, burning smoke, using candles as charms, or wearing religious costumes. These practices place your faith in objects and rituals instead of God.

Biblical spiritual protection includes:

• Faith in Jesus Christ
• Genuine repentance from sin
• Obedience to the Word of God
• Forgiveness
• Consistent prayer
• The whole armor of God
• Wisdom and spiritual discernment
• Godly relationships
• Truthful and disciplined speech
• Resistance to temptation

Ephesians 6 does not instruct believers to purchase protection or trust in religious objects. It commands us to stand in truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, the Word of God, and prayer.

The armor of God describes a life aligned with God and His Word. Truth must govern you. Righteousness must guard you. Faith must answer the fiery darts of the enemy. The Word of God must shape your thoughts, decisions, and responses. Prayer must remain part of your daily life.

Key Principles

1. The curse causeless shall not come. Proverbs 26:2.
2. A curse is the fruit. A cause, covenant, or agreement is the root.
3. Agreement creates spiritual access and establishes a legal right.
4. Deception often conceals the true meaning and consequences of an agreement.
5. Test every dream by the Word of God and examine it within its proper context.
6. A familiar face in a dream does not prove that the natural person represented is responsible for the spiritual activity.
7. Salvation does not remove every earthly consequence produced by disobedience and poor decisions.
8. Repentance, confession, renunciation, and consistent obedience close unlawful spiritual doors.
9. When direct spiritual attacks fail, the enemy often changes his strategy and approaches through temptation, deception, or compromise.
10. Giving money does not purchase deliverance, spiritual protection, prophetic direction, or favor from God.
11. Not every hardship, delay, loss, or consequence is the result of a curse.
12. Your faith must rest in God, His Word, and the finished work of Jesus Christ.

The Mystery of Demonic Altars: How Ancestral Covenants Still Control You

In the world of witchcraft, covenants are made at demonic altars. Demonic altars are covert places erected
by witches and warlocks to summon demonic entities to do their bidding, but more importantly, to covertly bind that person, and by extension their family, to that altar.

The power of a demonic altar is created through the spilling of blood at that altar. It is always the blood sacrifice performed there that summons evil spirits to oppress others spiritually.

What Most Christians Get Wrong About Altars

Unfortunately, very few Christians understand the spiritual implications of an altar. If you asked most believers what the significance of an altar is, they would likely say it's simply a place where one prays. While that may be true to a certain extent, altars carry a far greater spiritual implication in the realm of the spirit.

You May Already Be in Covenant and Not Know It

Many of you reading this right now have no idea that you may be spiritually in covenant with a demonic altar. Unknown to you, you were spiritually tied to a demonic family altar the day your fore-parents, another family member, or even you yourself made the mistake of participating in the works of witchcraft. What that family member, fore-parent, or you did not realize was that the moment that decision was made, an evil covenant was simultaneously forged, tying the participants and their family members not only to that demonic altar, but to a life of oppression and strange, negative circumstances.

Gideon: One Man's Altar, a Nation's Oppression

Let me offer some biblical proof to unveil the mystery of demonic altars. Scripture tells us in Judges 6 that the children of Israel were under serious oppression for seven years at the hands of the Midianites. Israel could not understand the reason for their oppression, or why God would allow it in the very land He had promised them. They cried out to God, and God sent an angel who instructed Gideon to go to his father's house, which would reveal the root of why they had been afflicted for so long.

When Gideon arrived, he discovered that his father, unknown to the rest of Israel, had a demonic altar set up in his own home, an altar to Baal:

"Throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it." (Judges 6:25)

Because of this altar, secretly erected in his father's house, with sacrifices being made to a demonic deity, the surrounding nation found itself under oppression. It is worth studying this passage closely; Israel's broader idolatry as a nation is also named in Judges 6:1 as part of the cause, and Gideon's obedience in tearing down his father's altar is presented as the turning point that opened the door to national deliverance.

Until the Covenant Is Broken, Nothing Changes

I have met with many people who have asked me to pray with them, pray for them, or fast with them, and nothing happened. We would later discover that nothing happened, even with fasting and prayer, simply because that person was already initiated into, and in covenant with, a family demonic altar, unknown to them.

Covenants are respected by God. Before God can move on your behalf, that evil covenant must be broken. In Gideon's case, it was only after he destroyed his father's altar and erected an altar unto God, offering godly sacrifices, that the spiritual order changed. That destruction paved the way for Gideon and the children of Israel to progress and subdue their enemies.

This same kind of spiritual activity keeps some groups, families, organizations, or individuals from advancing in life. As long as we continue in ignorance, or simply rely on what a preacher tells us rather than searching the Scriptures for ourselves, we remain prone to failure and defeat.

I could write volumes on this mystery. This understanding is essentially a foreign language to the average Church, simply because they do not understand the power and spiritual weight of covenants made at altars.

How This Shows Up: Finances and Relationships

If you have been a Christian for years, faithfully paying your tithes and giving financially, yet you still find yourself broke or continually struggling, chances are you are spiritually tied to a family altar. Here is how it works: whatever item a witchcraft practitioner instructed someone to bring to the altar as a sacrifice, and whatever money was exchanged to "pay the spirits" to do their bidding, that exchange formed an unknowing covenant with that altar. As a result, everyone in that family may carry a money problem until the covenant with that altar is destroyed.

The same is true if a family member, or you yourself, once visited a witch doctor to bring about separation in someone's marriage or relationship, so that you could be with that person. That altar now controls the destiny of every relationship in that family, because a covenant was covertly established between the one who desired the evil and the altar itself.

Finding the Root

This is why it is vital, in my ministry, to ask questions that may seem irrelevant to the person seeking help but that, to me, are always in search of the spiritual root keeping that person moving backward in life. In roughly seven out of ten cases, it becomes clear that the person, a parent, grandparent, spouse, or another family member was or is currently involved with witchcraft. As a result, that person was unknowingly tied to the altar.

I know many of you are reading this for the first time, and I suspect this very mystery has been the source of your relentless struggles. Ask God to reveal whether the source of your problems is an altar in your life you may not be aware of. More importantly, ask Him to destroy the spiritual covenant holding you to that altar. Please note: whoever is in covenant with a demonic altar, whether knowingly or unknowingly, is ultimately controlled by it.

Your Results Will Mirror Your Connections

Every result, every conclusion, every end, or, better yet, whatever position you've found yourself in right now, will always be the sum total of the connections you have encountered on your journey to where you're at, at this present time. Bottom line: Whatever you have connected to has determined your end result.

 

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor, Ecclesiastes 4:9.

 

As mentioned in the above scripture. The word "good" has become the hinge that opened the door to understanding the revelation of connections.  

The scripture begins by stating that increase, progress, multiplication, replenishing, and the ability to advance quickly or at all will require a connection (Two are better than one). To push the envelope a little further, that connection WILL automatically change what seemed ordinary in that person's life.

 

This same scripture now takes an unexpected twist: a "good reward" will result from their labor. The question that popped up in my head while studying and meditating on this powerful passage of scripture was, why did the writer, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, use the phrase "good reward"? Why didn't he just say "reward only" and leave it at that? Based on the entirety of the scripture, it will be fair to conclude that if two or more can produce a good reward, then two or more can have a bad reward.

 

In essence, your connections will inevitably yield some form of compensation for your efforts. However, the type of Connections encountered will also determine the quality of what is produced from that connection. Thus, not all relationships, by default, will have a good reward.

 

Indulge me for a few moments as we focus on the word "reward" used in the text. The word reward is something given or received in return for a deed or service rendered. It also means assigning or receiving something in addition to what's present. For example, your Job may provide you with a bonus for doing exceptional service. Suggesting you are being paid outside of your regular pay.

 

In essence, our situations will become better or worse because of what we've attached ourselves to. Therefore, whatever we've connected ourselves to will take from us or add to us. That connection will either advance us or delay us, promote us or demote us. It will either make us better or make us bitter. Again, our relationships will continue to be the determining factor as to how things evolve and conclude in our lives.

 

At the end of the day, my friend, we must be honest with ourselves and admit whatever life is distributing. At some point along life's journey, our various situations require our cooperation via our associations to produce whatever we're faced with presently and, by extension, in the future. As proof of this, the last word I want us to focus on in the above scripture is the word "labor." The word labor is defined as work. This has become very interesting because the text clearly states that two are better than one because they have a good reward for "THEIR LABOR" or their work. With that being said, it now suggests that we were working in harmony with whomever or whatever we were or presently connected to, knowing or unknowingly, to produce what we are currently challenged with or enjoying today. So the reality is, no one has done this to us. Instead, we worked along or in concert with that particular connection to produce what we have now. I may sound repetitive, but it is all to cement this law into your understanding to provoke change in you.

 

I want to say to someone today who has been in a state of confusion and depression for some time now due to this ongoing nonsense in your life, it is not by accident or chance that you're reading this article. In fact, God is literally providing you with the root cause of your displeasing matter, and that root is what you have joined or connected yourself to. It is as simple as that. I submit to you that you could pray until the heavens come down. You could fast until you can't fast anymore. You could be slain in the spirit service after service, speak in tongues, or do whatever it is that you do to give the appearance of joy or contentment in your life. However, as long as you are still attached to that person, place, or thing, it will continue to be the source or root of your misery.

 

In the words of Jesus Christ, "If thy right hand offend thee, cut it off" Matthew 5:30. This simply means removing the root of what's producing your end result of discomfort and unhappiness. The analogy Jesus used is interesting because the hand he indicated in the scripture is clearly needed. Still, the point here is that if that one part is becoming a consistent problem for the whole, it must be removed.

What person, place, or thing have you attached yourself to that, based on this teaching, you know has been a source of misery? Nevertheless, you've become dependent (financially or whatever) on that place or person that has now made you a prisoner to the suffering that connection is producing for you?

 

Heavenly Father, it is my prayer today that you surgically remove the scales of denial in the life of the one reading this prayer so that they would be better able to see the source of the discomfort and confusion in their lives as a result of whoever or whatever they have associated themselves with. Finally, Father, we pray that you will replace that lousy connection with your choice connection to produce your desired results in the matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen! Lord, let this be a day of revelation and complete understanding, coupled with the confidence to walk away and never associate themselves with that connection ever again.
